Niti Aayog to replace 5-year plans with 15 year vision document:
The national democratic alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to replace the five year plans with 15 year vision documents.
These will be framed to meet the country’s social goals without wavering from the sustainable growth agenda. The NITI Aayog has been directed to prepare a vision document at the earliest. It will be implemented after the 12th five year plan, as it is going to terminate in 2017.

Indian Air Force has launched its Electronic Maintenance Management System (e-MMS) Project, an automated military maintenance system. It was inaugurated by the Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha in Pune, Maharashtra.

The Union cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi has given its approval for signing of a MOU between Securities and Exchange Board of India and Financial Services Regulatory Authority, Abu Dhabi for Mutual Co—operation and technical assistance.
The agreement will promote further development of economic links and cooperation between the two signatories and will help create conditions for development of securities markets in the two countries.

Anil Kumble retained ICC Cricket Committee Head:
Former India captain Anil Kumble was re-appointed ICC Cricket Committee chairman for a second term of three years while his one-time team-mate and batting great Rahul Dravid was named member of the top panel. Kumble, the all-time highest wicket-taker for India, was appointed as the chairman for his first term in 2012 and will now continue to head the panel until 2018.

India and Bangladesh began a five-day dialogue in Dhaka over a host of security issues, including drug trafficking and cattle smuggling across the border between the two neighbors.
A 21-member delegation led by Border Security Force BSF Chief K K Sharma reached Dhaka to hold the talks with their counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
